I was browsing old posts on here the other day, and I saw someone refer to his hands as feeling like bunches of bananas- this is just how my fingers feel just now, and I feel sad about it because I work with them, and I was beginning to think I’ll never work again. Has anyone had this, and had it improve when they got their hormones right?
Thank you! Xxx

The aim of thyroid hormone replacement is to erradicate symptoms and we feel well again.
Have you had a recent blood test? Do you follow the guidance for blood tests? i.e.
The earliest possible test, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose of levo (or whatever you take) and take it afterwards.
If you have had a recent blood test, you could put your resuts with the ranges and members will comment upon them.
It’s a splendid list, and I am stunned by how many of these things bother me! But comforting in that if I ever manage to fix myself, a lot of them may go away.
I have fallen out with the nhs endos, so until I can afford a private one again, all my available funds go on medication- there is some advantage here in that levothyroxine wasn’t all that great anyway. I have just started NDT, from t3 alone, and the return of some old aches tell me that the step-down in dosage is making itself felt. I have plenty of t3, and it works very fast, so trying to finesse the transition.
They just won’t always respond! It’s sometimes slight shakiness, and sometimes weakness, but just plain bloody mindedness for the most pat (inasmuch as they have minds)
Hi Ginny - sorry to hear about your swollen fingers- I actually look at my fingers to see how my thyroid is doing - if my fingers are swollen it tells me that I am keeping water - if my fingers are slim as they should be - I think the thyroid is keeping the fluid at bay. Are you drinking enough and do you have enough Vitamin D - and try magnesium oil. Also make sure you drink enough - I have found a wonderful drink that I dilute as otherwise it would be too sweet - ~Apple and Ginger - Cawston - £2.30 in major supermarkets. Pear is wonderful for inflammation and so is ginger and apple is for the adrenals.
I should go out and walk about in some of the free vit d which is currently being provided outside, but I feel wrecked from the horrid sticky sleep last night
Going out in the sun when you are feeling as you do, will, in my opinion make you feel worse - your adrenals will be pounding away to keep you going in the heat and don't need any more being put on them. I know people will say sunshine is good for you especially when you are unwell - hence convalescent homes etc. - but not when the kidneys/adrenals are involved - this heat is dangerous ok when temperatures go back to a normal figure. Have you tried magnesium oil and rubbing them with it as magnesium is linked to the neurological system.
I just decided to blitz my son's bathroom and have had to give up because my heart started pounding and I was pouring with sweat. I will go back to it later when it is a bit cooler.
I bet people are wondering why is a 60 year old women looking after a son at her age? Well the reason is he likes living here (meals cooked and laundry dealt with) and after going to uni came back and never moved out.
