Long term Issues

Hi all,

I have been suffering from hypothyroidism since the early 2000's and was wondering what are the long term effects of taking Levothroyxine and having this thyroid issue. I know it effects my heart rate as it is constantly high but what else?

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

I have been taking Levo since 1975 and I don't have any issues that can be attributed to taking Levo or long-term hypothyroidism.

If you are optimally medicated then it shouldn't cause high heart rate.

If you can give us some more information, maybe we can help further.

What are your current test results for the following:

TSH

FT4

FT3

Thyroid antibodies

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

Can you post them with their reference ranges, eg TSH: 2.5 (0.2-4.2).

Also, how much Levo are you taking?

Do you take any other medication?
