Yet another awful Dad joke

In the worst stages of my hypothyroidism the strain on my marriage was so bad we stopped talking for months only communicating by post it notes.

I had a letter for an appointment to see a private endocrinologist 70 miles away and being a heavy sleeper I left a note for my wife to wake me at 7 am on the morning of the appointment as it was very important I get there on time.

The next morning I awoke and looked at the clock, it was 8 am! I turned to my wife and said " Why didn't you wake me at 7am? " " I did, several times. " she said and pointed to the bedside cabinet. There were 3 post it notes saying " Wake up! Wake up! It's 7am. "

I hope your marriage is now on a good footing. You must have been extremely disappointed as I know how desperate we are to see 'someone' who is able resolve all of our clinical symptoms. :)

It's a recycled old joke but we've had our moments. She's much happier now I'm not an obese sloth and can actually do jobs around the house again unless there's football on.

A 'Happy Wife' is worth her weight in gold - as I know you are aware :)

She certainly is, I'm going to pawn her when I retire. Haha, nah she's worth her weight in Bitcoins.

I am sure you tell her that regularly . :)

Not often enough, I'm afraid. I'll spoil her for her birthday soon.

My husband once bought a plaque that said ‘if mama ain’t happy ain’t nobody happy’

He’s known this for years but I think he was trying to educate the kids for everyone’s sake! 😂😂

I think those with hypothyroidism should be issued with handouts for family and friends to say how you’re likely to feel/ look/ react and how you need support. It is a lonely enough place to be in mentally and physically without having the support you need. I remember hearing someone describing me as ‘just lazy’ cos I didn’t come downstairs from my bedroom to say goodbye. It hurt deeply but of course you don’t have any fight in you to argue! Hope things are improving and maybe not to late to share what you were going through.

I can fully sympathise with you. When I was first diagnosed a neighbour said, well you look alright, yeah I thought, you should look at it from this side mate.
