Test results help
As per advice from many on here, are you gluten, dairy, soy free? These can all help us.
Ferritin is a bit low. You could ask your GP to do full iron panel. But as you are not out of range they might not.
You could eat some liver or liver pâtĂŠ. Also Lotus flower seeds are high in iron (if you donât do meat, but liver is good).
If my TSH was that high, Iâd be feeling rough. I think your Ft4 and FT3 could both be a little higher. Is it worth trying to up your thyroid meds a little?
What do you take? Iâm not as experienced as some of the others.
Maybe if you add here what you are on, someone will be able to help more.
Some GPs say you canât split a dose, but maybe you need just a 12.5mcg increase (if youâre on Thyroxine). ??? đ
Hello thankyou for your reply I am not on any meds and really have no idea what it means if they are high or what it indicates , complete newbie and had the tests due to feeling extremely exhausted xx
I suggest you go to a GP and ask for full iron panel test and explain how youâre feeling.
You can take those results with you. Some doctors ignore them.
But he/she might be able to find something that they can do to help you feel better.
Wonât hurt to follow some of the advice on here though.
Eg, good food, check nothing is upsetting you etc
If youâre not sleeping well, magnesium might help. Donât get a rubbish one though and different types make you awake/sleepy.
The magnesium sleep lotion from betteryou is good.
Good luck. I hope you feel better soon. đ
Thankyou for the advice can I ask is the TSH is high as you say does that indicate underactive thyroid ?
But as it's in normal range do you think a doctor will not take action đ˘
I canât see a GP doing anything thyroid related with youth at TSH result.
But you could keep on at them as you feel so rough.
My TSH was 5 for at least 3 years and nothing was said or done about it.
But my ferritin and iron was really low. They did give me iron tablets for 6 months for that.
It did improve my energy levels. I was able to sort of get on with it for another year or so, then my TSH reached the magic 10 and I was then put on Thyroxine with other tests etc etc.
If you feel rough keep seeing a GP, try different ones. Someone might be able to sort something.
But you could try the suggestions on here too. Do just one thing at a time though so you know it suits you.
I stopped having bread years ago, that makes a big difference.
Some people feel better going gluten and dairy free (Iâm dairy free).
I also did a food and drink intolerance test (costs around ÂŁ200). So I knew dairy didnât suit me long before I had my thyroid issues confirmed.
