The Daily Mail did an article on what the menopause looks like showing women going about their daily way - looking normal and I daresay it was meant to show how the menopause shouldn't affect women. I wrote this and posted on their comments page !!!
Let's have a 'this is what a thyroid disorder looks like that Doctors don't seem able to get sorted' it will show us overweight - losing our hair - fatigued to the point of having to give up work - unable to function with brain fog - digestive issues -heart problems - joint pains - you name it the thyroid affects every part of the body - menopause is a breeze compared to that.

That's all very well, but we get people on here who say they can't get treatment because their doctors don't think the 'look hypo' as if hypo has a look. Well, it can, but everyone's symptoms are different and not all of them show. Not all hypos put on weight, or lose their hair. They can, but it's not necessary to prove they're hypo. Hypothyroidism is an essentially invisible disease. And, only gets to show with the round face and puffy eyes when the person has been untreated for far too long. So, we shouldn't really be talking about 'what hypo looks like'. One of my doctors showed me that all hormonal unbalances can have visual signs - the creases on the top lip in progesterone deficiency, the pads of fat on knees with testosterone deficiency, the batwing arms with HGH deficiency, people can have them, but not everyone with hormonal deficiencies does.
I think you are taking my comments on DM a bit too literally - it was a sarcastic comment in relation to their rather silly photos in relation to the menopause. Wish I hadn't posted
Oh, please don't feel like that! Yes, I probably was taking it a bit too literally, I tend to do that. The Daily Mail is a silly 'news'paper. It's an awful rag! And I would expect them to get anything right. They're only interested in sensation, not real life. x
I always had terrible PMT. My life was blighted by it. The Menopause was a breeze in comparison and, felt extremely lucky to have manageable symptoms. Thought because i’d been plagued for nearly 40 years of extreme PMT, menopause would be the same. Then Hahis’s struck. Like an awful lot of people on here, I don’t know whether ‘i’m coming or going’!!
