Can someone please advise if any of you suffer from this ? It's rather delicate with the risk of sounding crude but when i have my bowels open i can visibly clearly see my food in pieces and I mean like grapes undigested , carrots , cabbage , bites of Apple, pears its all there I literally just counted 8 grapes floating around in the loo and im not being funny they looked EXACT the same as when I swallowed them ?????? I mentioned it to the gp lastweek she said yes that happens for some people ?????? It's new to me normally my number 2's are ....just what they should be but not any more they are actually undigested food ??? I'm scared 😱

There is nothing crude about bodily functions, only crude ways of describing them .... Occasionally, we can all see undigested food in stools from time to time; usually but not always only high-fibre vegetable matter, which normally isn't broken down and absorbed in your digestive tract. Some frequent culprits are beans, carrots, corn, grains, peas, seeds, and skins such as from tomatoes. With corn for instance, it has an outer cellulose shell for which we don't have a specific enzyme to break down, only the components inside that outer shell, so we can see it in the stool. Occasional undigested food isn't necessarily a problem unless it's accompanied by persistent diarrhea, weight loss or other changes in your bowel habits; and eating slower and chewing food more, can resolve it. However it typically takes about one to three days for food to pass through your digestive tract and out, so if you notice the food pieces much sooner, this could indicate the stool is passing more quickly than usual. So if you notice that, or as mentioned, if there are changes in your bowel habits, persistent diarrhea, unexplained weight loss, blood in the stool etc, then you'd be advised to see your Dr to eliminate other possible causes such as IBS etc.

Just checking, when you had the grapes last night, had you not eaten them for at least 3 days before, to know which day's grapes you were seeing? My IBS for instance, started with swings between constipated and loose, but sad to say I've had no pay back by way of my own much needed weight loss .... :-(

No I ate the red grapes last night , iv never had red grapes before I usually buy green , that's why they stood out at first I thought it was blood but looked closer and it was literally half a grape 😮 then the others popped up sort of floating , sorry to be graphic , the cabbage and carrots im used to seeing but grapes nope . I do get upper tummy cramps and sometimes vomit clear fluid and blood i have posted previously about that but iv recently started on L glutamine and the tummy cramps are much less severe so is the gas and hiccups .

You could try taking digestive enzymes & probiotics.
