Can I get some advice please. I have recently had a scan for a lump in my neck and the result were sent back to my gp tgevsame day despite me being told it would take 5 working days. My high as informed me that a referral has been done as I have a u2 and u3 nodule. Does anyone have a idea of how long I have to wait for the appointment to come through as I am really worried
Thank you

As I understand the U classification, 1 = normal, 2 = benign; 3 = indeterminate; 4 = suspicious; 5 = malignant. Presumably they want to do further tests on the one classified as 3 in order to a definitive diagnosis. I'm sure others will comment, who have first hand experience of the process.
How did you get on? Were you waiting long? I have had an ultrasound and been told that one large retrosternal nodule is u3 as slightly vascular. I'm being referred to ent and having a biopsy. No idea of timescales. Hope you are all sorted
