To have a FT3 level of 3.91 (3.1-6.8) when on 2.5 grains Naturethroid suggets that you are very undermedicated. One would expect to see FT3 in the upper part of it's range when optimally dosed on NDT.
How long have you been on this dose?
Have you ever been well on Naturethroid, if so what were the results?
Have you recently had a new batch of Naturethroid - some members' posts suggest they may be a problem with recent batches and it's not as effective and their symptoms have returned or they need a higher dose.
With your Thyroid Peroxidase antibody level at 64, this is indicative of autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's. Were you aware of this? This is where the thyroid is attacked and gradually destroyed. The antibodies fluctuate and cause fluctuations in symptoms and test results.
Your Vit D is a bit lower than that recommended by the Vit D Council - 125nmol/L - and the Vit D Society - 100-150nmol/L - so you might want to consider supplementing with D3 (and D3's important cofactors magnesium and Vit K2-MK7) to reach that level.
When Hashi's is present, an oral spray D3 is considered to give the best absorption.
Your folate is also a bit low, it's recommended to be at least half way through it's range and that would be 15.5+ with that range. Folate rich foods and a good B complex supplement containing methylfolate (not folic acid) should take care of that.
Thanks for your help. I was on 2 grains until about 6 weeks ago when my consultant recommended increasing by 1/2 grain per day. It’s taken 6 weeks to slowly adjust the dose. I’m considering increasing to 3 grains in the new year.
Yes I was aware of having Hashimoto’s. I was diagnosed in 2010. It’s the reason for taking Naturethroid as I didn’t improve at all after 4 years on on Levothyroxine. Naturethroid made a huge difference as did removing grains, sugar, and dairy, but I seem to have regressed while trying to manage a very stressful work environment.
If you click the blue "Reply" directly under someone's message - between the thumbs up signa dn the word "More" - a box comes up with "Reply to XXXXX" and when your message is submitted it will be indented under their message. They will then get a notification that you have responded. If you just place your reply in the "Reply to genileris" box at the bottom of the thread then you are replying to yourself and the member you are actually responding to doesn't get notification and your response generally wont be seen.
Did you become symptomatic again soon after you started this new batch? Or is it only recent after being on this new batch for some time? Is it one bottle or several separate bottles - in which case are the batch numbers the same?
