Can someone please tell me I have had under active thyroid since I was 18 and am now 52
I have been on HRT patches they were good it stopped my hot flushes which were terrible .
However I had reaction to the patches plus I’m sporty and going to the gym a lot and swim so they are not staying on .
And I became very bloated in the stomach so my doctor has put me on femonston 1/10 ...
I haven’t started them yet as I only got today .
He said I take 1 everyday however just wondering if it’s safe to take together with my oroxine 100MG ??? Anybody doing the same can you let me know how you are going on them or have an answer for me on taking the 2 together or should I take one in morning and the other at night?
I forgot to ask him 😱😱
Cheers guys

Never take other medications along with levothyroxine. There should be a large gap between medications - just in case it interferes with the uptake of the hormones. So a.m. and p.m. would be fine.
Have you had a current blood test? Did it include the Free T4 and Free T3? Usually they don't test these and (I am not medically qualified) think that they should test these if patient is developing other symptoms. I shall give you a link and if GP wont do them you can get a private test from one of the recommended labs that do home pin-prick tests. For home blood tests make sure you are well hydrated a couple of days before blood draw.
Blood tests should always be at the very earliest, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose of levo and test and take afterwards.
A Full Thyroid Function Test includes, TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies (if you've not had antibodies tested previously). The aim is a TSH of 1 or lower, with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of the ranges. Always get a print-out of your results with the ranges and post on the forum for comments.
