Is this the TSH test from two years ago, that you mentioned in your other post was being posted to you, or a new test result, as you mentioned the old results indicated the opposite to this - a high level. (TSH is a pituitary hormone not a thyroid hormone by the way, and so doesn't tell you what level of thyroid hormones are in your blood, only how the pituitary is reacting to them.)

TSH level that’s the only test they did then the doctor said I had overactive thyroid

So to clarify, this is the result of the 2 yrs old test, and not a current one?

Yes

Thank you for clarifying. So I think you'll know the problem that you have, from the many responses to your other post: firstly, you can't really be advised, based on old results because they may have no bearing on what's going on now, other than to have clarified that your TSH wasn't high as initially reported. Secondly, a TSH result alone indicates only that the hormone is within or outside range, and whilst we can make assumptions regarding that, it doesn't definitively tell us why, and so any assumptions can be way off beam. We see Drs wrongly interpreting Hashimoto flaring as hyperthyroidism and even as Graves', without any appropriate antibody testing or a scan of the thyroid. So it's important not to mislead you. I understand the problems you have with anxiety and leaving the house, but is there no way you could either visit a Dr with the right support and calming meds perhaps; or could you access a finger-prick postal testing kit such as we have in the UK, or arrange for a home phlebotomist visit to draw blood for you and deliver it to your Dr for testing?

apayett24 you need to go back to the doctor. Hyper Thyroid can cause severe anxiety symptoms and that is probably what is happening to you. If you want to feel better you need to go and get treated for this. Honestly there are no alternative ways to treat you if you are Hyperthyroid. Symptoms can be panic attacks, sweating, weightloss, trouble sleeping, feeling overheated if these are things you experience now I really recommend you go back for that follow up with your Doctor you will feel so much better once they treat you.

Karenk, you're jumping the gun a bit. You cannot just assume the OP is hyper on the basis of one TSH test done two years ago. A low TSH alone does not automatically equal hyper.

What we should be doing is encourage her to get more thorough testing, so that she know what is really wrong. :)

Yes this is what I was implying to her that she should really go back to the Doctor for a follow up IF she is Hyper as the Doctor mentioned to her previously she needs treatment. She may or may not be but either way she needs to go back to be checked.

Luckily MaisieGray remembered your past post as the above sentence didn't give any idea of your question.
