Anyone else had CFS type feelings and /or palpitations with Mercury?

Hello , I've kept to actavis Levo for ages, I'm on 75mcg they send out 50mcg tablets so need to take one and a half daily. Been having issues with the pharmacy for ages over substitutes, they also sub my husband's meds, not levo. He once overdosed because he was going by the packet colour! Shows how dangerous it can be. They mostly give me the Levo in a bottle, label says MUST BE ACTAVIST BRAND. This time the tablets inside are Mercury! Can't even cut them in half correctly! Went down to pharmacy, she maintains they can't always get activas, I asked why then give me these when label says otherwise? She told me I needed another prescription now and my prescription didn't state I could take another brand in place of...... That didn't make any sense at all. I said doc won't agree to that because it's not due, she then said she would sort it with the surgery, I was going to firmly suggest she does that anyway! I feel like I've got CFS/ME again, had it in the 90s before hypo diagnoses. Has anyone else had these symptoms thought to be caused by different fillers? I have taken at least a weeks worth of these Mercury ones to see if it's OK. Doesn't seem to be OK at all. And I'm changing chemists!

Hello, I've had issues in the past with both Mercury and Pharma, I moved to Wockhardt after reading up about it on this site. Apparently Wockhardt has the least amount of fillers. It suits me, it comes in 25mcg tablets - I am on 75mcg so just take 3 per day plus 10mcg T3. I find the smaller independent chemists more helpful to be honest. Good luck.

That's the problem when GP prescribes levothyroxine. It is us, the patient, who have to inform the pharmacist that certain makes don't suit us and can they please make sure they give you your preference at all times.

Some of us are sensitive to some fillers/binders in some products so we are entitled to take what suits us best.

I think that's a failure of the pharmacist to put another levo into a different package.

I have had problems with both Mercury Pharma and TEVA. Actavis suits me. Insist the pharmacy supply the one that suits you and don't accept the tablets until you have checked them. Ring around the pharmacies in your area and find an independent one. Ask if they can supply the type you need on a regular basis. If so, switch your pharmacy. Many pharmacies are tied into a contract and won't supply specific brands.
