Hashimoto’s and alcohol tolerance

I wonder does anyone else have sensitivity to alcohol? I feel hungover after only 2 drinks and have trouble sleeping. I have Hashimoto’s and have given up grains and dairy. I have also experienced a few blackouts which has really scared me. Is anyone else experienced either problem?

As far as intolerance to alcohol is concerned, it's not just Hashi's. Many hypo patients who don't have Hashi's find they can't tolerate alcohol like they used to.

I don't have hashimotos but I am hypo and have zero tolerance to alcohol since then... before I could drink and never had hang over and now I have it as soon as I start drinking ;))

I have found that I am far less tolerant to alcohol since becoming hypothyroid. One glass seems to be ok, anymore and I can’t get to sleep, plus I wake up feeling dreadful.

I should see your doctor about the blackouts though. Perhaps something else is causing those?

I'm Hashi's & hypo and can't tolerate wine anymore. I can drink spirits though.....& thank God because I love my Baileys 😉
