Thyroid definitely affects kidney function. If your GFR has fallen and your creatinine has risen, it's a sign your thyroid dose is too low. I have the opposite problem. My creatinine drops below the reference range when my dose is too high, and a downward adjustment to my dose brings it back into range. Hi HIFL, that’s very interesting, I’ve not been diagnosed with a thyroid condition but suspect that my thyroid is struggling (my TSH is just under 3 and I have the symptoms and struggle with absorption issues). I also have CKD level 3 which has been diagnosed. My doctors are absolutely adamant I don’t have thyroid problems and that thyroid and kidneys are not connected at all. I’ve always suspected that that’s not correct.
