I have been taken off of my levothyroxine before I have my one-year full body scan (I am one year in remission from the thyroid cancer). I knew this would be a difficult transition for a few weeks but I did not realize how bad it would be. I can barely keep my eyes open, I am having chest pains, heat flashes, my joints and muscles ache, and my memory is so groggy. Any suggestions on how to better cope with all of this? I have another few weeks of it and I am not doing as well as I hoped without it.

It sounds awful to me that your levo has been withdrawn. Surely this is totally unacceptable to leave a patient who has no thyroid gland without essential hormones.
In the meantime I hope the following may be helpful as you have my wholehearted sympathy that doctors allow a patient to go through this. This is a link.
Strength and Sympathy for you . It's not an easy time . When I had to go off Synthroid for my body scan I was dosed with Cytomel (T3) . Are you on any T3 ? The reason Dr's give give T3 for patients just before body scans after TT is that it's fast acting . T4 takes about 7- 8 days to leave the system . Take it easy and give yourself all the time to just relax .
