Recently I was advised to up my dose from 100mcg 5 times a week and 125mcg twice a week too 125mcg everyday. On doing at i was advised after 2wks I felt awful. Headaches muscle aches nausea everyday very fatigued. So I went to a pharmacist who advised me to go back to my old dose until I saw my Gp again.
Anybody else had this happen.
Changing a dose of levothyroxine can cause symptoms if vitamin levels are insufficient or if the pharmacist supplies a different type of levothyroxine. If you have thyroid antibodies your thyroid hormone levels may fluctuate rapidly and contribute to changes in hormone levels and symptoms. There may be other reasons that I don't know about.
