Hi everyone....could l ask people's experiences with Sertraline? I have tried to fight my severe depression without them but it has now got very serious.
Was on Citalopram a couple of years ago and it was a nightmare to get on. No sleep couldn't eat, lost loads of weight which l have done already due to bad anxiety around Body Dismorphia and as this is about eye bags and my face, the weight loss is not going to help.
So much else going on with my health, finding it difficult to cope.
Hoping for some positive news on Sertraline.
Any other suggestions for ADs that don't have the above side effects would be great xxx

I've taken sertraline, aka: Zoloft. I've also taken a bunch of other ones throughout the years. All the SSRIs make me emotionally very flat...also I lose any and all sex drive. So, I will never take any of them at all. Paxi was the hardest of all to wean off of...had electric "shocks" throughout my body for months..ugh. Zoloft was the easiest for me to wean off of, but when I did, I felt very depressed eventually, and thought I should go back on them. I fought through that though, because I had read an article that that will happen when going off of them. So, I finally feel just great! Hope this info. is a little bit helpful for you.
I've been on sertraline for almost 20 years without any major issues other than minor issue around sex drive. i originally was on prozac but it wasn't effective and switched to the sertraline. I'm in the process of tapering off of it because of neuropathy and have read that antidepressants can be a cause of it. One thing I would advise is that getting off of them is not just a matter of quitting for most people. Everyone is different but it's not as easy as the doctors lead you to believe. I'm glad I was on the antidepressant because it allowed me to gain some distance and perspective as to what "normal" was but there can be a down side to getting off of them, if you decide to.
