I would like to purchase some books on thyroid. There are so many out there, I wondered if you had a good recommendation on some good ones. I normally buy on Amazon so if there is a particular link I should use with money going to Thyroid UK or other causes I would be more than happy to use that.
Thanks

Hey again "Tired Thyroid: From Hyper to Hypo to Healing-breaking the TSH Rule"
'Hypothyroidism: The Unsuspected Illness' by Broda Barnes"
due to many thousands being told their symptoms are not due to hypothyroidism as the TSH is in the 'normal' range or not even testing it whatsoever (this was my personal experience).
You can also click on 'Fundraise for us' or 'Shop Online' on the link below.
When we shop through Amazon etc TUK get a small sum to help defray their expenses.
I had absolutely no knowledge of what 'hypo' meant and neither did any of the doctors or Specialist I saw. They gave me other diagnosis but never the correct one until the First Aider suggested it to me as he could see my swollen throat. I knew no-one who had hypo or they were diagnosed and on levo which suited them and they never mentioned hypo at all.
The fact that I was in the A&E overnight for observation and discharged as 'probably viral' with high cholesterol (cholesterol wasn't a flag) and running on treadmill etc.
My own demanded blood test next day after being discharged was TSH of 100.
I think the biggest problem is that symptoms have been superseded by a blood test which is usually in 'normal' range now that it has to go to 10 in the UK.
I have found "Thyroid for Dummies" by Alan L Rubin and Sarah Brewer extremely informative and useful. (My copy is the UK edition, published about 10 years ago.)
