Hi all, and once again thanks to everyone at HQ for helping with advice.
For many years , on and off, I’ve had a problem whereby, whatever I’ve eaten can literally go straight through me almost within minutes of eating it. My doctor explains this as ‘ hurry tummy ‘ or ‘rush stomach ‘.
Reading a post yesterday from Seaside Susie, where she said you can have Hashimoto ‘s without raised antibodies ( my results are similar to hers) could this stomach issue I have be down to a Hashimoto flare up ?
Many thanks as any advice is always greatly appreciated xxx

I don't know if your "hurry tummy" can be anything to do with Hashi's but has your GP done any investigations into it? It sounds like a gut problem. My late husband had problems in this department and his was ulcerative colitis. I really think your GP should be looking into some tests.
Hi SlowDragon, many thanks for responding. The answer to your question is no, I am not on a gluten free diet, though I have suspected for some time that maybe I should be. Could this be why I feel that Levothyroxine hasn’t helped relieve any of my symptoms?( not all stomach related symptoms).
Maybe now is the time to start rethinking what I eat.
I have been supplementing with vitamins and minerals that were recommended by the good people on this forum and am due a blood test again in 2 weeks, so maybe I will go gluten free after that.
My own experience is that, I never ever suspected gluten to be an issue. But it was. Significant improvement on strictly gluten free diet despite no gut issues at all. More info on my profile
Autoimmune disease causes, or is caused by, leaky gut. Leaky gut allows gluten to cross into blood stream.
Ideally ask GP for coeliac blood test first just to rule it out. But negative coeliac test doesn't mean negative for gluten intolerance (I found that out the hard way)
