Hi there guys it's me, i am still taking carbi but only 2.5mgs every other day now and just lately have felt much improved on it, not quite myself yet as i have other things going on to do with deficiences and nodules etc-you regulars know the story!!
I know im probably going to be on meds until at least january next year at titration doses but just trying to gain info from other people who have come off carbi who maybe had withdrawal symptons etc or any other problems-good or bad let me know, im just trying to get a few more replies to add to Lisa254 post the other day. As we both have been through this dreaded longwinded disease together.xx🌟

Thankyou i do believe in what you are saying about Magnesium-in my 20's to 35 i used to take a supplement called magnesium ok and it was brillant you know! I felt fantastic on it and never fell ill either, i was only pondering the other day about it. Thanks feallyfedup.xx
Hi. Just to say that stopping my anti thyroid medicine was uneventful for me (I was taking ptu as had a skin reaction on carb). My dose was decreased gradually and I was on a minimal dose when I stopped, after around 14 months of treatment. I had no ill effects. Best wishes.
Hi rmichelle I'm off from carbi since September 2016 was really bad at first bcs endo stopped mg medication after few weeks on it I had symptoms even they stopped it I think stopping medication slowly is a good idea but we all different took me long time to feel slightly better and that was after taking supplements now I m not taking all the supplements bcs of good levels but do u remember our last chat abt goiter and pain in ear and neck abt two weeks ago I went for ultrasound of my neck and they found a noudle on it my GP said its 10mm don't know abt that but he has referred me to endo see what they says ...i still have good and bad days
Hi rhere shinyb great to hear you, yes we are all different and it has taken me a long time to feel better but i think the longer you are on it the better, its been such a ling hard slog for me and lisa254, she has just recentley stopped her meds.
Yes i remember-eh so you now have nodules too, yours is bigger than mine-mine is 5mm but several well defined ones, i dont care what any specialist says -they do cause problems no matter what the size. What are they going to do with it-i hope they dont leave it there? Better than i was-ive had some excellent run of good days but today feeling bit offish.xx
Hi rmichelle yes agree to u they do give u symptoms that's the reason I was getting a lot pain in my neck and ear don't know what they gonna do to it but at least I been referred to a specialist again to get the answers ...what r they doing with urs after the ultrasound I only got one noudle at the moment that's what they told me
Sorry i called you shinyb i did not have my glasses on lol😆 i keep pushing my endo to do something but it is very difficult and i am sure the nodules swell up and down. Blasted things-keep fighting hey!!
Its OK rmichelle I know when it swells gives alot pain and like u without glasses I can't tell what I'm reading and writing a worst symptom of thyroid has messed up my vision never worn glasses before
Thanks rmichelle 😊😊 I have searched high and low on line and there doesn't seem to be much info on stopping carbimazole.
Samy3 I have been off carbimazole 2.5mg for a week I was fine for the first 4 days and now just have headache and dizziness I'm hoping it will pass soon.
Hi Lisa that's how I was when they stopped mine but u been on it for 14 months I was on it for only 8 weeks then stopped completely it does take a bit time for the antithyroid medication to release from ur body with me my dizziness never went away its bcs I have goiter and now I have a noudle on it did u have a goiter when they diagnosed u?
Hi, ah I'm sorry the dizziness has not subsided for you, it's horrible, have you tried acupuncture? I had dizziness earlier in the year (i was on 10mg carb) and acupuncture worked wonders for it and it went away so I'm hoping it's just my body trying to rebalance itself. It's not bad just feel a little unbalanced from time to time so annoying more than anything!... No I haven't had nodules or goitre my scan came back just saying inflammation/thyroiditis think it's something
No I have not tried acupuncture ...that's good that u don't have a goiter I think those who don't have goiters stays in remission after been on carbi for months which is good bcs I know few other members from here and other forums they doing much better bcs once the inflammation is controlled or healed u starts feeling ur urself bcs urxtgyroid is not enlarged and u don't have noudle when I was diagnosed two years ago through the ultrasound they said its thyroiditis plus ending said I have a small goiter but I did not have any noudle at that time now two weeks ago they found one noudle on top so keep an eye how u feel afterwards
Its disgusting that you were taken off your medicine just after a matter if weeks-poor you!! Like you i have chronic damage on my thyroid and several nodules which i do think that when they play up release some hyper symptons too-endo disagrees with this but there is alot of people who to say they release a hyper hormone-i dont have a goitre but consultant sonographer did say that the thyroid does swell up and go back down-its a real pain in the ass. I am on carbi until at least january and then after that time if im still displaying symptons after 6 months this butterfly horror shaped thing will be coming out!!
Try out the accupuncture it really does help and relax you too, i had it recommended by Lisa254.xx
