Hiya, wondering if others out there have a slow heart rate? I have a heart rate of 60bpm which seems pretty slow as am not like some super athlete or anything. What can be done about this? Is this bad for our bodies?
Feeling down about this stupid disease and its effect on every bit of my life...

Your dose was reduced 24 days ago, despite already having low FT3.
Your antibodies were extremely high. This is Hashimoto's also called autoimmune thyroid disease
About 90% of all primary hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's
Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12.
Low vitamins tends to lower TSH then dose is reduced incorrectly
Always get actual results and ranges. Post results when you have them, members can advise
Hashimoto's affects the gut and leads to low stomach acid and then low vitamin levels
Low vitamin levels affect Thyroid hormone working
Poor gut function can lead leaky gut (literally holes in gut wall) this can cause food intolerances. Most common by far is gluten.
Are you already on strictly gluten free diet?
According to Izabella Wentz the Thyroid Pharmacist approx 5% with Hashimoto's are coeliac, but over 80% find gluten free diet helps significantly. Either due to direct gluten intolerance (no test available) or due to leaky gut and gluten causing molecular mimicry (see Amy Myers link)
Changing to a strictly gluten free diet may help reduce symptoms, help gut heal and slowly lower TPO antibodies
Ideally ask GP for coeliac blood test first and to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Good vitamin levels are essential both for conception and for success in managing Hashimoto's
Thanks a lot for replies and for the links. Have had my dose adjusted lately so that might be a factor too. Am strictly gluten free and have been for 2 years. Believe it or not my antibodies were over 1500 before so gf has helped a lot but some way to go. I am also now dairy free and have been following AIP. I have found that I have been able to reintroduce many foods with no issues but still struggle with pulses. Would like to keep looking for my root cause as I don't think it is just dietary!
