Thyroid reading of 11

Hi I’ve reasantjy been getting tingling and knumbness in my arm and fingers I ham always exhausted and have fungal nails which are getting worse over the last few years my hair has gone really dry and lifeless and finger nails have gone really brittle also I am getting more and more anxious my doctor prescribed antidepressants which I’m reluctant to take she also done some blood. tests all came back normal accept the thyroid she said was a little lower than the normal she said just to come back in too months and she would do it again I am afraid I do have a thrroid problem and she’s going to palm me of and tell me I’m fine I don’t know what to do

Your post heading says thyroid reading of 11, but we don't know if that's TSH, T4 or anything else. Do you have the results, with ranges?

Your doctor should really have started you on treatment if your TSH is 11. Which leads me to think that your GP doesn't know much.

You say that other results are normal but that means nothing. Do get the results and post them, either in the original post or start a new post, otherwise no one will be able to help you.

What was 11? TSH or free T4 and what were the ranges? If it was TSH, that's much higher than normal, not "a little lower" and you should be on levo. See another GP and demand treatment. If it was free T4, that might be a little lower than the bottom of the range, but you should still be treated. You need to a) get your results - printed with ranges and b) see another GP.

Thank you I’m going back to get more blood tests in 3 weeks time at least I know now what to ask for
