Does anyone else get heavy, fatigued eyes when not mediated correctly? It’s more than just dry eye, but heavy, sore, extremely fatigued and achy eyes that sometimes make you feel headachey? When they’re really bad they actually make me feel quite unwell. I’ve trief all the drops- natural etc to no avail and tried warm compressed and sea buckthorn. Nothing helps.. I’ve veen to an optician too who says my perscriptuon is fine.
Hoping it will go when I’m mediated correctly but just thought I’d see if anyone currently has experience or knowledge of this.
Thanks x

Yes my eyes are awful, heavy lids, they feel tired, mildly pink always. Recently stopped thyroxine on endos advice vision was terrible. Heat packs help me and eye lubricant but not much! Floursent overhead lights and staring at computer does my eyes in case completely.
I'm seeing eye dr next week if he gives any good advice I'll post
Are you hyper? I get very sore achy eyes and put it down to too much reading or computer maybe it's not. I have also noticed lately that my vision is not so good. I use artificial tears which are a lubricant for a different problem but I'm sure the thyroid is not helping. Sometimes I just want to sit with my eyes shut or put my hands over my eyes to try and relieve it.
Hi, yes I get this too, always sore and watering, I feel like my eye lids are starting to droop slightly, they feel heavy with or without make up. I use hypo allergenic make up, but it makes no difference..... feel like I need to peg my eyelids up sometimes !! I did read that taking Manganese can help with droopy eyelids, has anyone tried this? Beginning to think it’s all part of having an underactive thyroid......😳
Yes, I get a variety of uncomfortable experiences with my eyes. Often dry and watery at the same time. In recent days I've had a weird one where I rub my eyes, and then it feels like maybe an eyelash gets caught inside and it is very painful and I vision completely blurry for ten minutes.
I struggle with bright lights, and in the evening just have a small lamp on, not the overhead light. I also get a feeling of pressure around my eyes sometimes, often accompanied by a migraine aura, that sometime exhausts me for days.
I'm currently being investigated for optic neuritis, which is a swelling of the optic disk. Probably what causes some of my light sensitivity and migraine auras.
