What does it mean when a member says they are following me? Is there anything I am supposed to respond to when I see that ----- is 'following me?' Also how do I find a list of followers. I am assuming they like my posts and would like to communicate back. Thanks for tutorial. irina1975

Every member has the option of following another member. We'd hope the most common reason is that something about what you have posted is interesting to them!
If you go to your profile, healthunlocked.com/user/iri... , you can view a list of Followers.
If you really object, you can go to your own settings and untick the box
[ ] Allow other users to follow me
I really don't care if people wish to follow me - but I post very little that is personal. I do not respond when I see an alert that someone has decided to follow me. Not meaning to be rude, but it would seem like putting them on the spot for an innocent action!
Thanks helvella. I'm fine with my followers; just wanted to be sure I understood any etiquette and protocol involved. New to more technology -at my age' and want to get it right. irina1975
You can see who your followers are and who you are following on your profile page :
healthunlocked.com/user/iri...
You can see Posts/Replies/Followers/Following.
As far as I'm aware a follower gets a notification? or an email? when you create a new thread (but not when you post a reply to an existing thread).
People will choose to follow you if they think the threads you create are interesting.
If you click on your avatar just next to the Search box you will see a Settings option. Click on that and in the Privacy section you can allow/disallow whether you let people follow you. You can also allow/disallow whether others can see who you follow.
Thanks. I take it as a compliment; still learning about the forum and how it works so wanted to know 'etiquette' involved. I'm open to the followers on my list. Thanks for info. irina1975
