TEVA T3 pots - trying to open them... is it just me>

I realise that I am incredibly lucky to even have 3 pots of T3 courtesy of the NHS but I have recently been given TEVA for the first time and am completely unable to open their terribly designed pots. Luckily my husband can do it with a bit of trouble, but I cannot. If it were not for him I would be asking the pharmacy. I am thinking of writing to them about it. Is it just me?

Hi Agapanthus

I have just been switched by the pharmacist to Treva and I absolutely agree! You have to force the small ring of plastic down the first time you open them, which I could only do with the end of scissors - quite risky itself! EAch time after to open is still tricky. I will this to the pharmacist as well.

I find them a bit more powdery and difficult to split than the Mercury Pharma ones. Do you have this problem? Apparently there is no lactose in the Treva which may be good for some hypo patients. I am waiting to see if I feel different on them, but no indication yet. What about you?

Thanks MaryMary. I am just leaving the lid on loosely now, which isn't ideal. Maybe I will move them to a different container as otherwise they are not airtight.

I am doing Ok so far with splitting as they seem to at least have a marker on them, plus I bought a really good cutter online which is helping. Have you seen the silly instructions in the leaflet though about dissolving smaller bits in water etc? No way am I doing that....surely it can't be that essential? How would I manage if I am out as I take it 3 times a day?

I am a bit mixed up with my T3 at present as the pharmacy keeps giving me different suppliers - I even had a pack of Morningside to try in the middle of all this!

Shall we compare notes in a months time? I agree that dissolving would be incredibly inconvenient. I chew mine then take with a class of water as I am not too good at swallowing - pretty much the same as dissolving!

Ok will do - I am about to contact Teva on it. Yes, I tend to chew mine also!
