Hi all, I have a very complicated health history. I have EDS, sjogrens, colitis and and spondylitis, lots of neuro problems like pots and syncope.
When I first got very ill 4 years ago after birth of my son I remember the exact day it happened I developed palpitations, severe anxiety attacks, depression, constant need for toilet that was awful, loss of appetite yet even when eating weight was dropping off at rapid rate. This then turned into loss of muscle mass and I now have significant loss of muscle tone. All neuro tests are clear on that and I am told it is def not a neuro muscular thing. I'm still not convinced.
Anyway someone finally decided to take this seriously and I recently had a PET scan. I could not believe with all my problems it didn't show anything, apart from some activity over the thyroid. My throat has always been a problem and my immune system goes right for the area over the Adams apple often causing agonising swelling and swallowing problems amongst over things. I'm referred to see an endo next week. They've done bloods but I noticed they only took one TH rest and I understand there are plenty that could be done. Is it important to push for a biopsy? For some reason bloods never show anything for me even though I'm being eaten alive. I'e

Jo I’ll leave this to others as we are friends already but I just wanted to ask if you get print copies of your blood test results? If you do then you may want to copy your TSH number and the lab range here for people plus folate, ferritin and B12 and Vit D. Not that it means that much to me although I’ve had Hashimoto’s for many years now and know about my own markers and roughly when I’m happy with them or not. But this is the info that people here on this particular community tend to request from you. Xx
Hi Twitchy, you know I should do this and I don't. I've only ever had one thyroid test I remember and that was normal. I will take the results down for sure. Xx
Just ask for print outs of all your bloods always from the past few months onwards so you can learn your own patterns Jo. They may be telling you all is fine but it may well not be fine at all for you. These are generic “normal” levels. I know mine like the back of my hand now particularly my inflammation markers and RBCs and renal bloods as they are always elevated to high/ low! X
Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.
All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH and most consistent results
