This is a bit off track but I wanted to share it with everyone. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night. I do not have insomnia in general but last night I did. My bedroom is on the second floor and a big window faces west - and my house is on a hill. I woke about 3:30am, opened my eyes sleepily, looked out of my window and there was an eclipse of the moon!!!! Right there for the looking at - without even getting out of bed! So there you are, have a thyroid problem and you might get to see unusual things.

Wow! how splendid! Where do you live?
West coast of USA. Probably not visible from Europe - sorry. It was so remarkable, at first I thought the hills were on fire (again!) because the moon looked dark red. Then I thought maybe it was foggy, but no, I could see next doors quite clearly. I then realized it was the penumbral stage of an eclipse which then gave way to a typical eclipse sequence. A big unexpected thrill, not what you usually get to see when you wake up and have to go pee.
Thanks for telling us about it. No rush to go back to sleep after that.
Best wishes.
