Thank you for the link - fascinating indeed. Up until about 20 years ago, the commonly used teat dip (to clean the teat of a cow) was iodine based. A trace of this must have been in the milk too. It is not used now.

So for those not drinking cows milk, you could be short of iodine. If you are a vegan, and want to get pregnant, it is vital you check out your iodine intake, and do not rely on seaweed for this, as it will affect your baby in ways you do not want.
