Thyroid UK

Is it thyroid, adrenals or something else? totally confused

I have been feeling so normal over the last 3 to 4 months; lots of energy, normal sleep pattern, no mental health symptoms (which I suffered for 30+ years). However over the last few days, whenever I leave the house, I am becoming agitated. Then I get high stress symptoms. Yesterday I drove 120 miles round trip on the M5, but had to stop on the way home in a small town just off the motorway. I thought I might be having a diabetic emergency and spoke to a diabetic young lady in a shop.

I don't know or understand what is happening to me, need advice and help please.

From my research on HU and generally, it appears it could be one of a few things :

thyroid hormone too high, thyroid hormone too low, adrenals (high or low), or an underlying illness that has not yet been diagnosed.

You need blood tests to confirm, or not, that your results are good. Ask for TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies. (if you already know you don't have antibodies you don't need to test these).

If you've not had B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate tested recently ask for these too. Everything has to be optimal.

Thank you shaws. It's been exactly one year since I did a private Medichecks thyroid test with all the tests you listed. It's in my diary to do one in the new year. Unfortunately I've been caught out here, but will send off for the test so I can do it as soon after the holiday period as possible
