Unfortunately, appointments are usually quite far ahead, especially if someone is feeling very unwell.

Hi there it is a long wait but some people can wait 3 months, i did the 1st app and the next one is a 2 months wait, its sad when we have to wait around like shaws says but the waiting lists are as long as your arm- i even went out of area to get a earlier appointment as it is a 5 month wait where i am in shropshire.good luck.😆

Afaghieh,

That's not a long wait. Many people wait 6-9 months to see an endo on the NHS. If you went private you might not get an appointment much before 19th Jan.

I gave up waiting for my NHS lung consultant appointment after 6 months as I was so unwell so I paid to see him privately. My NHS appointment came through eventually, 12 months after referral!

Thanks Seaside Susie

I have made a mistake the date is 19th March. In the past I have seen Prof. Wass

Now I am a poor pensioner.

I'm a pensioner too, but I was so unwell and couldn't wait 12 months, so I prioritised. I saw him once privately then asked if he would transfer me back to NHS and continue on from there. He was very happy to do that and I had a CT scan come through very quickly which was done on the NHS and follow up appointments are now NHS.

Might be worth writing to him and explain your circumstances and ask if you can see him on the NHS. OK I suppose he could say no but you never know.
