Revealed: How doctors have unlocked the secret to halving stillbirths... by using a very old-fashioned technique to help reverse the UK's appallingly high record

. Sorry it's from the Daily Rag .... but it caught my eye. Just proves that "specialists" "consultants" "Professors" don't use their brains

Sadly the picture of Rachel in the above article reveals she is Hypo - that is by the diagnostic method used by a Greek Doctor I have heard of. He looks at the patient - instead of the screen - and on seeing two necklace type wrinkles on the neck he assumes a thyroid issue.

Thyroid issues are well documented as being the cause of pregnancy issues. Most thyroid issues are Hashimotos - in which case LOW VitD can be a big problem .

Marz, if you have learnt to pick up the sign why can't other doctors? ! I have previously read your replies about the two necklace type wrinkles on the neck. It does make sense.

.....and it happens so often. Watching people on TV is revealing as it is not just the necklace neck wrinkles - also the position of the head in some cases. Why - because low thyroid affects muscles and that includes the muscles of the eyelids - eyes are often half closed or just a little - and so the person tilts the head back for a better view ! The wonderfully funny Jo Brand springs to mind :-) There are so many other signs too - too numerous to mention .....

No please do say other signs. That'd be very interesting to know. I'll find most related to me.

However the ones I notice myself are mostly based on intuition - so not medically based.

"Dirty" elbows and knees are a common sign of hypothyroidism.

I had thick, very rough and sandpaper-like, discoloured elbows and knees from childhood onwards. No amount of creams or ointments ever changed them.

Once I got my T3 level up they became normal, and are the same colour as the surrounding skin.

Just checking my elbows: they do look lighter than they used to!

Whenever I used to have my photo taken (and once I paid a professional to do a portrait of me and my son) my eyes were closed. They flickered so much, they were closed more often than open. Thanks Marz

The flickering could be LOW B12 .... I think you know your levels :-) When B12 is low it can become a neurological condition - as has happened to me. They removed my Terminal Ileum when I had Gut TB some 44 years ago - but forgot to tell me I would need B12 injections for life :-) Hey Ho - doing my own now !

Thanks Marz - that was when I was really ill - just kept going trying to live life as normally as possible - but paddling crazily under the water..... am optimally medicated now :-)

Oh my God!

That's so true. I've noticed it on myself ages ago and - to myself only - though it is thyroid related but never had it scientifically confirmed or met anyone thinking the same.

Thanks Marz, now I know it wasn't my silly imagination.

Do you know if this is ever going to go away?

What - the wrinkles or the Hypo condition ? Don't think a good neck cream will cure being Hypo :-) :-)

The wrinkles and fatty deposit in between. I still have it after 10 years.

Yes I think it will be with you as part of You ! I had vitiligo in the shape of a butterfly on my neck until diagnosis and treatment for Hypo. I think the body has a wonderful way of communicating if we are able to see and listen.

I have fatty deposits in other areas !!
