Hi everyone i am a third-year psychology student and in the process of doing the dreaded dissertation. so I thought if I had to write 8000 words about anything would have to be something that i know about and something i want to know more about. And seeing as i have hypothyroidism i thought why not let's do the dissertation on Hypothyroidism and the link between depression and anxiety. And here is where i need your help i would gratefully appreciate if you would click on the link below which will take you to the survey on survey monkey and answer a few questions for me. thank you in advance to everyone who takes part.

It would also be a good idea to let people know how long it will take to complete the survey before they start. Otherwise, you will have people opting out in the middle of it because they don't have the time or the patience to complete it.
I agree with Hidden
I started to fill it in based on how I feel now rather than at the beginning of my 'hypo' journey. On that basis you'll see no evidence of depression or anxiety so maybe it would be an idea to get an idea of where people are in the treatment ie latest results of TSH, FT3 & FT4. Just a thought...
Good luck with your dissertation 😊
I tried to go back and check one of the questions, but couldn't get back in.
Did you ask only about thyroid medication? That's how I answered the question, anyway. Either I answered the medication question wrong, or you need a question about other medication - I currently take a medication to improve my mood, which is now better than before I started to take it.
So as someone above said, you need to know how we were before current medication or treatment.
I'm afraid you've picked a very complex subject to study!!!
Please please believe me, depression and anxiety comes in spadefuls with Hypothyroid, Hashimotos Thyroiditis, low adrenals. Also I would like to say that over the last three months, I have started a high fat diet on the advice of a homeopath. Full fat milk, cream, real unsalted butter plus nuts, avocados, oily fish, olive oil etc. I've learnt that the brain is made of something like 80% fat, so all the stuff we were being told to eat a low fat diet, was a load of tosh, and no doubt made a lot of people very depressed. If you would like more information on how suicidal I felt for fairly long periods over the 35 years I was ill with hypothyroid, please send me a PM
One caveat - if you don't toe the party line (you'll know the opinions of your tutors and examiners), you might not get a good degree. Sad, but true.
