I got put on NDT by my new doc a week ago on Friday and he told me to increase from the initial dose of one grain in two weeks time not before. My instructors are to do this every two weeks until I find my optimal dose.
Until yesterday I felt SO much better on the NDT and off the Levo (I actually felt well again) and then from yesterday afternoon I started getting strong symptoms again. I have lost my new found energy feel fatigued and anxious, my jaw aches, I have cold hand and feet and the worst one which is new is I’m really dizzy.
Should I up my dose of NDT before Friday? Anyone on NDT got any advice for me? Thanking in advance x

Thanks for replying clutter, do you know what I’m now not sure if I was started on half a grain or one grain. I take one tablet which I now think is half a grain.... my brain isn’t working so I can’t remember which it is!
I do remember however that I was on 75mg Levo and to increase by either half or one (depending on what one tablet is) every two weeks
I think one tablet is half a grain and that’s what I’m one and I think I have been asked to increase by half a grain every two weeks... does that sound right? I was on 75 Levo
Isn't it amazing that even your truly great new doc doesn't write it down (on paper or electronically) for you?
Patients not fully remembering what they were told is a very common feature of posts here. It isn't your fault - you are unwell and need help. You cannot be expected to remember everything.
The medical professions have been failing in this regard for centuries. Or millennia.
I suggest, if it is feasible, you ring and ask. Better than guessing or piecing together an incomplete jigsaw.
It may be written down... I think I forgot about that too.... I will ring and speak to him tomorrow because I think I need to increase. Half a grain is low compared to 75mg Levo I’m thinking
Also I think he’s truly great because he’s the first doctor I’ve had in the whole year I’ve had this that has an action plan to get me well, transferred my meds and ordered loads of other tests! This should just be standard I know but unfortunately every other doc I saw was verging on malpractice they were so bad!
Hope you are still working on the levels of B12 - Folate - VitD and Ferritin - they need to be optimal for the NDT to work well in your body .... just read your previous post
Dr. Peatfield started me on NDT and advised that increases should be made in 1/4 grain doses so that you don’t miss the sweet spot. You could try using a pill cutter and ask for the correct size when you’re stabilised.
