My girlfriend seems to be loosing too much weight. She eats more than I do and she's always hungry.

She also has no hair growth on her legs...Like at all and she's never shaved in her life..Shes 40 yrs old..Ive never heard of females that don't shave.. Plus she's from Mexico and all her relatives have to shave.

She's never been tested, but I just wonder how do I bring this up to her to mention to her Dr?

If it is unexplained weight loss she should see a doctor and ask for a blood test for thyroid hormones.

The test should be at the earliest appointment and fasting (she can drink water) and if she was taking thyroid hormones (in future) she should allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose and test and take afterwards.

Also she should ask for B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate to be test too.

Get a print-ut with the ranges (ranges are figures in brackets and are important to respond). You can post them for comments.

Well this depends on your girlfriend of course, but if you are worried about her health you could gently share your concerns. In the end it’s up to her if she shares this with her doctor. I’m not an expert, but it seems to me there are a variety of possible causes for weight changes and hair loss. If your girlfriend is concerned too she could ask her GP or a nurse practitioner (who are are often very good and may have more time to listen) and some routine blood tests would hopefully be able to rule out common problems like thyroid disease. Above all I would say be kind and supportive of your girlfriend. I hope all goes well for you both.
