Hi all, I'm wondering if people can tell me what happens with your first endocrinologist appointment?
I had a basic thyroid test that came back "normal" (TSH=0.7, FT4=12) but I subsequently had a private test carried out, which showed high TPO (64, normal is 0-34). Everything else was normal on the private test (TSH was still on a lower end at 0.9, but it was a different time of day & a fasted sample).
I'm curious what the endocrinologist will do to work out what's going on?
I showed my test results to my GP, but they don't have a copy - is it ok just to take a copy to the appt, or should I hand a copy to my GP upfront?

Just give the Endo a copy. I hope it goes well as many only take notice of the TSH and T4. I don't think they've heard of free T4 and free T3.
On the forum one doctor , ex President of the BTA, suggests that if we have antibodies but TSH not high enough to be diagnosed as hypo should be given T4.
email louise.roberts@ thyroiduk.org.uk for a copy of the Pulse Online article by Dr Toft and it is question 6. (Dr Toft was President of the BTA)
