You have to be on the optimum dose unfortunately. As long as you don't gain more weight which means you still need an increase. Some people have to diet when their optimum is reached so that weight reduces.

Weight gain is the commonest question.

It would help if you told us how much you were taking and posted your lab test results. :)

I'm on both levothyroxine 100mcg and liothyronine 18.75mcg. My latest results before adding liothyronine are:

Tsh 0.05 (0.35-5.5)

Ft4 19 (12-22)

Ft3 4.7 (3.1-6.8)

Will have new tests in a couple of weeks.

Well, you're probably going to need an increase in T3 - if you can get it. That is only a tiny dose, and your FT3 is below mid-range. So, I don't think weight-loss is going to happen any time soon.

But, it's not just about hormones. All your nutrients need to be optimal, too. You say they are, but do you have the numbers? :)

I don't have them here but still have a look when I get the chance. All of them are in top of reference range.

Those results was before adding t3, so you still think I might need an increase?

I think it's likely, because that's not a high dose you're on.

Do you have Hashimoto's /autoimmune disease (high antibodies)

What about levels of vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12. These all need to be optimum for T3 as well as T4 to work

Post results and ranges if you have them

They are optional. Have antibodies but only tpo 40 (<60) and they haven't tested the other ones.

I lost 20 pounds when I went gluten-free lost them in about three weeks . It was phenomenal but since then the weight-loss has stopped . I think I have to do better with other diet choices . I travel a lot and it's difficult to eat and make healthy choices .

But my gut has healed / continues to heal ( The doctor gave me a prescription for Diflucan as well) and I feel better more mental clarity . Gluten-free does wonderful things . My doctor said that I need to be better hydrated . I'm here in the US . This was all about 10 or 15 weeks ago that I started gluten-free . I've had Hashimoto's for more than 30 years .
