I expect the horrible sensations are making you feel anxious, not the other way around. When you say you've 'had all your bloods done and they came back normal', what bloods have you had done and what were the results?

Please post your blood test results here so people can help you. They can't help without some hard factual information to view. Doctors say things are normal but they may not be fine for people with thyroid disease because doctors are not specialists and most don't live with the disease.

I had my throyd tested to and thats come bk normal ill find the paper and put it up... bt the doctors reckon the burning is anxiety and nothing to do with my mild enlarged thyroid...

I expect they're wrong - they usually are where thyroid is concerned.

Anxiety is a symptom, not a disease. And, it's very often a symptom of low thyroid.

Have you had your B12 tested? Low B12 can cause burning sensations of the skin.

If you have a mildly enlarged thyroid then what did the doctor say has caused it?

They said were iv had a baby bt she is 1 and 5 months now its still a little inlarged bt my thryoid come bk normal

So did they say your thyroid condition was pregancy induced and if so, did they say how soon you should expect it to get back to normal? Did they say whether it is temporarily overactive or underactive or just enlarged?

It sounds like you should have a test for thyroid antibodies anyway if they've not already done one.

I totally understand I get the same symptoms, it's s tight pressure feeling😩 My scalp and my face used to burn, and oh the crawling feeling is like ants 🐜 running over your body, what's funny is I get that feeling when I cry or get agitated 😡 don't know why but I do. I believe they're are all linked to the thyroid.

Hope you get better 🙏🏽

It can be hormonal or it can be vitamin and mineral deficiencies or all of these and your thyroid as well. Without testing it's difficult to say and all of these can cause anxiety as a symptom.

Cassie. Normal for doctors means that your results are within range the laboratory sets for whatever they are measuring and it usually does not matter whether you are at the bottom end, in the middle or in the top part of this range or even below it or above it while in reality it may have a huge significance where exactly your results fall. Saying your results are normal is really meaningless for symptoms and possible treatments even if for doctors it will mean no treatment despite whatever you experience.

As Greygoose said - anxiety is a symptom not a disease itself, and something is causing your body to go into alarm mode. To find out what you start with finding out what your results are really saying (with ranges they use) to which every patient is entitled so just ask your practice to give you your results and post them here so people can have a chance to comment and give you their thoughts. At the moment we can only guess and there are many options to choose from. And possibly go to another doctor and have a second opinion as well.

Your TSH FT4 & FT3 are all low - even without the ranges ! Could point to Central Hypothyroidism rather than Primary. Rarely understood by Docs and is a Pituitary problem.

What is pituitary ?

Marz profile image
Marz in reply toCassie101

It is the gland that secretes the TSH - Thyroid Stimulating Hormone to make it produce the hormone T4 mostly.
