Without current labs one would only be speculating here. But I can say that 50 mcg of Levo is a very small dosage - and Googling "oroxine" results same as Levo. We refer to 50 mcg as a so-called "starter dose". Labs are performed after 6-8 weeks on this dosage and usually upped by 25 mcg increments. Labs need to be performed first thing after fasting (water OK), and leave off Levo/oroxone for 24 hours prior. This gives the most accurate results. If you have travel insurance (you should of course!) I suggest visiting a clinic for further investigations and full labs asap.
I also think you will get better advice in France. May be one of our French members can come in on that one. I have a friend who spends time in France and gets better advice there.
First, 50mcg of levothyroxine is a starting dose unless you are very frail with a heart disease. You do say you are fit and well but being on 'a tour' your Free T3 may being depleted too quickly.
That's the problem nowadays. Doctors are untrained in treating hypothyroid patients. They don't look at us or ask questions but only look at the print-out of the blood results.
You really need a blood test for TSH, T4, T3, Free T4 and Free T3 but I don't think you have time. I have a feeling that your FT3 is depleted but I am not medically qualified but doctors rarely take FT4 and FT3.
There may be a private hospital that will do these tests for you. Palps may be due to not being on sufficient hormones.
