Husband has all the symptoms of addisons. Just had his levels checked, first cortisol result 441. Second cortisol after Atch test at 30 mins, was 487.
I read somewhere that anything below 497 after the ATCH was indicative of a problem. Also don't think the cortisol level has increased sufficiently but the notes came back from hospital that it was a normal result.
Can anyone advise if these levels indicate a problem?

Thanks for the reply. I thought they were the same thing? I joined the addisons .org site earlier and have posted there. Using Google suggested his levels are higher than people with addisons, just trying to get to the bottom of why it didn't significantly increase. I have applied to join the fbook page you suggested so thank you for that hopefully someone will be able to advise as Dr not back till Wednesday and going crazy here.
Thanks again.

Adrenal fatigue isn't a recognised condition by doctors, Addison's disease is a life threatening condition where the person is dependent on Hydrocortisone (steroids) to stay alive. A lot of doctors will say that cortisol levels around 441 is normal. What time of the day was the test done? This link might help you. pathology.leedsth.nhs.uk/dn...
Hi Pauline, thanks for the link 😀 it says it should rise by 200 after 30 mins which it didn't. It was done at 8.40am and 9.10 am so at tbe right time of day, hoping the Dr will run further tests.
If the test concerned was an SST test (Short Synacthen Test), then that is covered on pages 68 - 70. It covers the preparation, timing, how to do the actual test, and how to interpret the results.
