Hi Folks

I know this is off topic but after a very stressful 6/7 months i very stupidly started smoking again and quite heavily, i tried using an e cig but that didnt work for me, went to the smoking clinic at my docs given gum then spray but i still bloody smoked.

Any one had success with Champix and is it safe to take when on Levo.

I am so disgusted with myself i have an irregular heart beat at times and i still reach for the damn cigs its like i have a death wish!! just hate myself for smoking and yet i cant seem to stop

Any advice from all you good folk would be great

Someone in my family - smoker for forty years stopped with Champix. This was after trying the gum, patches, lozenges, hypnosis, Allen Carr, mouth spray. Nothing worked.

They have been off the fags for 8yrs or so now.

Smoking was the only vice I ever had. I quit with the gum. I loved that stuff. Fruit flavoured high strength. I got addicted to that though for about 10yrs 😂

Please don't hate yourself, you're only human. And it's so easy to get addicted to something when you're hypo. We reach out for something to make us feel better. It might be smoking, it might be alcohol, or it could be hard drugs. We just need a crutch.

Before beating yourself up, if I were you, I'd check to see if you're adequately medicated. Could be you need an increase in dose. :)

Hi Dotti

Never give up giving up is what they say, and it's true!

I gave up 2 months ago after a long time trying, and after decades of stress.

I never used e cig or gums etc but only gave up recently thanks to Paul McKenna's Stop Smoking cd. I listened to it daily for ages and read the book [amazon] both of which helped me stop.

I'm so pleased I did, even though I 'only' smoked 4 a day. My lungs and breathing are so much better for it.

Hypnosis works for me and hope it may help you.
