Estrogel making Depression worse

Hi All,

My saga continues....but losing the strength to carry on.

i am now on Estrogel (2-3 pumps a day) , has anyone experienced depression getting worse whilst they have been on Estrogel

I can say that when I got saliva test they were the opposite of my blood test so I don't trust saliva test

Dear Ybette65 - I cannot give any advice but can confirm that every time I tried estrogen supplementation (cream, compounded capsules, all types of estrogen) I changed almost overnight. Depressed, angry, I didn't recognize myself. Immediate weight gain as well.

My saliva and blood levels of all sex hormones were always low/below range.

My doc has no explanation.

Are you balancing the estrogen with progesterone?

I manage meno symptoms with minute amounts of testosterone and progesterone, all nature identical, plus chinese herbs and reishi.

Yes i am balancing the estrogel with progesterone ....

Had enough at the moment.... coming off the Estrogel...has it seemed to much for me.

Currently swapped out with Estriol

Are you taking any estrogen at all ? or just test and prog, if so how much and which ones (brands)

Progesterone is the hormone that makes you feel good and laid back and happy. I suspect you have a bad ratio of oestrogen to progesterone. So-called oestrogen dominance causes all those nasty symptoms.
