Hello, I am a gastric bypass patient (about 10 years) with very good success except for some malabsorption issues from time to time. Now I am suddenly diagnosed with Hashimotos disease and wondering if anyone else who is post-bypass has this issue? I had a Roux -en-Y procedure and had my gallbladder removed at the same time. Thanks for any info you may be able to supply. Katherine in the U.S.

I've heard that having gastric bands fitted can deplete patients of their vitamin B12 , so might be an idea to get your B12 blood levels checked if you haven't done so since having your gastric band fitted kathfl ? Also I vaugly recall reading about about a gallblader/thyroid link, but cannot remember much about it without googling it to see if it is correct or not.
