Hi

So I've recently been told I had sub clinical hypothyroidism and have been started on 50mg for a 5 month trial to see if I feel better.

But I work shifts so don't always have an hour to wait in the mornings before having breakfast.

Anybody got any tips should I try taking the tablet at night.

Many of us take our thyroid meds at times other than in the morning. Some take it at bedtime, I take mine in the middle of the night when I get up for the loo. Just make sure that it's one hour before or two hours after food and drink other than water.

Doctor should retest after 6 weeks as that is the time it takes to get each dose increase into the system and you may find you need more. If you do increase by 25 mcg then again it's retest after 6 weeks till your results say you are good. Please get into the habit of asking for your results and then you can post them with the ranges and we can tell you how things are. The ranges are important as they differ from lab to lab.
