Kez1984,

They are typical hypothyroid symptoms and you will experience them if you are under medicated.

I wonder (it is more like asking for a miracle) if your doctor would consider adding a little T3 to your 50mcg of T4 as I doubt you are able to convert 50mcg to enough T3. It is T3 alone which is needed in all of our receptor cells and might help to relieve your breathlessness.

I highly doubt i would get t3, the endo didnt even mention t3 at all or possible not converting.. but he is now waiting for all the blood test he ordered me to have and going from there...

Get a print-out if you can (maybe he sends GP a copy). Post for comments along with the ranges. The've been told not to prescribe T3 and it is due to the exhorbitant cost the Pharma company wants and also gives them an excellent excuse as many on this forum have been requesting some T3 to be added to T4. Recent Researchers have found that most benefit when T3 is added to T4 if they weren't getting better on levothyroxine..

To be honest i have always been ok on levo for 7 years! It wasnt until i started the teva new formula last october that my tsh shot up and t4 also went high then my problems started, anxiety/depression/insomnia/breathlessness etc.. went through hell mentally over xmas!!

I can only presume that my body was sensitive to the new formula and not absorbing properly, and became undermedicated..

Iv been on the actavis brand for 6 weeks now so the blood results should now show whats happening hopefully going back to normal.. anxiety had calmed down so...

I am on 50mcg levo with no thyroid. Breathlessness was bad recently but has improved as have other symptoms. Still feeling rubbish but GP thinks job done as TSH is 4.6. No chance of getting increased dose and was told of other patient who keeps on about T3 , she got shot down as well. Can't sleep either, cholesterol up at 8 and gained a stone in weight since op. Usual nonsense with statins and being 'stressed' . It is the same old story. Going to source my own to up dose to 75. Good luck. The breathlessness IS a hypo symptom.

Hi Bathsheba 61. Please look up "problems" with taking statins on line. They can do terrible things. My best friends husband had terrible leg pain and lost the sight in one eye. This is not to frighten you but they are awful things.

One of the symptoms of body "distress " i.e. Being Under medicated, is to exhibit stress signals to let you know it's in trouble!

Insomnia also and commonly suffered.

The whole profession of endochrineologists are in big trouble. They have backed themselves into a corner and with nowhere to go without a huge about face on all their theory's, so they have stuck their heads up there a.... . This needs a huge expose on what they are doing to people it is criminal.

I did not pick up statin prescription. I want to get my hypo under control. That is all that is wrong. Same as most I suppose.

In my own case, I got bad breathlessness when my adrenals were low. I had been hypo for many years before diagnosis and my adrenals were hit badly. It was the notorious Dr P who realised my adrenals were in trouble.
