BREATHLESS

I have been on NDT for around 2 months. I was taking 60mcg three times a day.

I saw my Endo two weeks ago and he told me to reduce it to twice a day, which I did.

However, three days ago I became very breathless again and I haven't taken NDT for 48 hours, but I still feel very breathless.

Any ideas?

Hi angela100 from my own personal experience I had breathlessness when I was taking too much NDT..I presume it's the T3? As when I reduced the NDT the breathlessness went.. it was quite scary.

It may take another day to dissipate but if not perhaps something else is causing the breathlessness? Your Endo should do a blood test if he hasn't already to see your levels?

Of course, I am not medically trained just letting you know my experience.

Do you have your thyroid results and ranges from when you were taking 3 grains?

If you weren't breathless on 3 grains I think it is more likely that you are under medicated on 2 grains and that is causing breathlessness.

NEVER let your doctor reduce your meds based on blood tests alone. Demand a full physical examination.
