Thanks for this. I recently changed from taking my levo in the morning to taking it at bedtime. I definatly feel better now I've changed. I thought it may be causing insomnia taking it at night. But since reducing my vit D supplements gave been sleeping much better.

Hi shaws, I found the link very interesting and will change to taking my Levo at nighttime.

I still don't know yet though if my Pituitary gland is working properly or not (This ALL relates back to 'unknown TB infected gland removed from my neck, when a baby d.o.b 08/47). I was only diagnosed as Hypothyroid in 2003 though, Hashimotos in 2014/5. I've forgotten which yr. however had tremendous problems with joints and more recently extreme nerve pain - Sclerosis ? Too many possibilities for which condition I have and to which it's related.

I've not taken any Levo for 48+ hours now - all nerve pains gone, all joints still stiff but able to walk much better, although still slowly only. For the pain which had got so bad over previous 2 weeks when still taking 100mcg Levo per day, the GP prescribed me Cocodamol. After a 3/4 days this week the only effect it was having was making me drowsy, slept more hours than awake and stopped acting as a painkiller.

Yesterday and today no nerve pain, more strength in knees to be able to stand up from lying/sitting I feel so inclined to never take Levo again - which I know is not what I should be saying! A little more strength also in fingers to hold things. I feel like my body is putting itself back together without the Levo!

Had a big blood test taken by District Nurse yesterday, Im not sure what GP wanted tested. Monday I have to see a Rheumatologist at local hospital, so will tell him/her all, as well.

I've said before in my own posts or replies to others, Im convinced, so was the Haematologist (abroad) last year, that ALL my different conditions do come down to my Thyroid - I think from shortly after birth, but not diagnosed till I was 55, although several of them started after I was put ON Levothyroxine, so what conclusions do or can we draw from that? It needs a scientist to work that one out!

It seems to be quite common that women experience difficulties with their thyroid gland after childbirth. I assume they wouldn't guess that was the reason as they've just given birth and would believe that was the reason for feeling not up to par. :)

New Research has shown that a combination of T3/T4 is better for many than T4 only. I'd ask if you could have T3 added to T4 on a trial basis and if after six months you aren't improving I'd ask to try T3 only. A combo of (T4/T3) 3 to 1 was found beneficial

Everything in our body is affected from head to toe if we don't have sufficient hormones for all of our receptor cells and that's why we have so many different symptoms. Also ask doctor to check Free T4 and Free t3 because if we don't have sufficient T3 we will have symptoms. (I am not medically qualified :) )

Hi shaws, my FT3/4 have always shown Ok and within ranges when done abroad and my 1st one done back here also. It will be interesting to see what next test results are, Im always optimistic of course :-)

Yes I'll have to ask GP about prescribing a combo T3/4. I'm not yet aware of any of the GP's here, attitudes to Thyroid problems.

I was late into puberty, always had irregular, protracted and painful periods - all of which stopped after a difficult 1st pregnancy and going on the Pill for about 1 yr, then 2nd pregnancy was a walk in the park, back on Oestrogen pill afterwards for about 12/13 years till I was sterilised.

Only bone deformities in my feet continue but had my 1st of 3 same foot ops, around time periods started, aged 14, then hands started much later in life, leading to the rapidly advancing joint pain everywhere since return to UK last October. All very weird. However as said earlier - no pain yesterday and today :-)

I'm glad you are pain-free today and it is really draining to suffer. I am also sorry you've had problems since such a young age, particularly with your feet.
