Hi everyone,

I am attending my first endo appt and was hoping for some advice on what to expect and any advice on how to get the best out of this appt.

I am hypothyroid with hashimotos . I'm on 50mcg levo.

thanks for any help

Maria

Your question is quite difficult as members have wide and varied experiences, some of whom have been very disappointed especially if they've paid and are no further forward.

However, on the bright side there are some who are sympathetic and helpful.

I think the first thing you should mention is how long you have been diagnosed and not getting any improvement with your dose of 50mcg (of levothyroxine I assume). He should increase it as 50mcg is a very low dose, usually it is a starting dose.

Blood tests for thyroid hormones should be at the earliest possible, fasting (you can drink water) and allow 24 hours between last dose of levo and the test and take it afterwards.

May I ask why you're seeing the endo? Are you symptomatic? Do you know if the endo is on the TUK list?
