Nice to see the world of endocrinology focus on the vital issues of the day. Especially as the abstract is so illuminating.

There have been reports since at least 1973 about iodine and malt whisky - but I still don't know if it contains any!

Being Thyroid UK, I'd better say:

He retired a week before Christmas, but for over 15 years I was buying most of my veg from a farmer with coastal land, who I now know dressed it with seaweed. For the first few years I do recall becoming slightly heat intolerant e.g. preferring cotton sweaters to wool.

Interesting but it would be good to see some numbers!

All I can get is the authors.Unable to open the abstract.

Some malts from islands such as Islay get described as tasting of seaweed. I suspect Talisker ( from Skye) and Laphroaig have more iodine than Speyside malts . Just guessing after a night of several brandys which did not have any nasty effect in the middle of the night unlike a few whiskeys.

I guess what you see as the abstract is exactly what I posted:

I wasn't trying to be mysterious! :-)

Maybe a real abstract will appear when someone wakes up enough to notice what they have done?
