I also have the butterfly shaped redness to my neck and was avidly reading every response hoping for an answer......but alas to no avail.
I was at the respritory clinic yesterday and the consultant noticed my red and growing goitrethis has happened since being prescribed levo (now on 150mcg daily but due to have bloods done again) The rspritory consultant has referred me to the Endocrologist. Having never seen one before and after reading about all the horrors on here I am a little nervous of what she is likely to say/do. Any advice would be greatfully appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards
Maud

The endocrinologist will probably examine your throat and neck and may order an ultrasound scan to determine the size of your goitre and whether it is impacting on nearby organs or growing down into the sternum. If so, partial thyroidectomy (hemilobectomy) or thyroidectomy to remove the goitre may be recommended.
Don't take Levothyroxine until after your consultation with the endo in case a thyroid blood test is sprung on you.
