My husband has been suffering with nonspecific symptoms of exhaustion, enormous weight gain caused admittedly by his over eating of sugars especially, very very low mood. I would love to know what you think.

Hi

The tests are for Pituitary Function.

The results show very low(almost non existent) growth hormone. i.e. Severe Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency. Another indicator of this is low IGF-1. His testosterone is low another indication that there is a problem with pituitary function.

I have this same problem. My problem was caused by head injury but there are many causes of pituitary problems. I am now on growth hormone daily injections.

My guess has been eating high carbs to try and combat the extreme fatigue one of the main symptoms of severe GHD.

Great reply from mosun . I would also ensure he has the following tested - B12 - Ferritin - Folate - VitD. If they are all optimal it will help hubby to feel better whilst the other investigations take place. So often overlooked - but small things can make a difference :-)

Hope all goes well.
