Here is a result of some thyroid test I had taken earlier in the year.

Can someone tell me if this is correct

130396,

I can't read the results and ranges but rT3 is in the green area and looks to be less than half way through range so it isn't high at all.

Thank you so much Clutter.

It is 0.31 and top of range is 0.54.

Yes it's well within the green bit.

I've been concerned because the sttm groups have said it is high as it should be 0.17!!!!

My ratio is 18.4 and they've said it should be 20 or higher.

That's the reason I reduced my t4 last week as they were saying my t4 is converting to too much rt3!!!!

Thank you so much for your help Clutter. It is always appreciated very much

That's a good article Shaws.

Thank you so much.

So it seems Rt3 isn't as bad as what I've been led to believe.

Thank you

130396,

I would say your results are fine.

TSH is often low when people medicate T3 as the pituitary senses thyroid hormone and reduces secretion. Free T3 is a good level and RT3 is good.

There is a general ratio some people use to determine the correct level of RT3 but it is so multifactorial and depends on what level FT3 is in the first place. Many who have a reverse T3 problem will show low FT3 results as it is being converted to reverse.

You shouldn't reduce T4 as Levothyroxine doesn't just convert to RT3 but to T3. You will improve thyroid hormone synthesis by optimising thyroid hormone levels and all nutrients and iron.

Thank you radd

My ft3 has reduced from the previous test. Gone from 4.2 to 3.7 and my ft4 gone from 11.1 to 11.8.TSH gone up from <0.03 to 0.03 even though I've been on the same dose. Same times and same gap from last dose of t3 and Levo to when I had bloods drawn.

I find this so very hard now as I was perfectly fine in Levo only for over 28 years but been struggling the last 3 years.

It gets very confusing reading the facebook groups and the advice they give !!!!

Trouble is when I was just on Levo for all those years I only ever had TSH checked and was always in the 1's or 2's and felt great!!!

I expect you saw I tried reducing Levo last week and after 4-5 days I started feeling very jittery and anxious.

I dropped from 75mcgs to 50mcgs. I didn't experience that when I dropped from 100mcfs to 75mcgs though. I still kept my t3 the same at 25mcgs

Thanks for reading this.

If you have any ideas why the drop made me feel like that I'd be glad to know

Also thank you for re assuring me my rt3 is not high
